Bernard at 21 and 71

This postcard is one of the many that Bernard and Mary had created at I Tatti, then sent to friends and colleagues. In 1937, the 50th anniversary of Bernard’s Harvard class may well have inspired him to create this postcard that brought attention to his Harvard ties. It combines two profile portraits, identified by the captions: “B.B. at 21/ Harvard 1887” and “B.B. at 71/ Settignano 1937”
Size: 135 x 84 mm
Technique: Gelatin silver process on paper
