Students played a fundamental role in the conception and realization of this exhibition, which is dedicated to two students. Nadia Marx (Graduate Fellow, Harvard University) helped develop the original project and organize related material, and Colleen Farry (Graduate Intern, Syracuse University) provided essential work on the layout and design. In addition, Ashley Albano (Graduate Intern, New York University) transcribed several documents, Michael Cancelmi (Graduate Intern, New York University) wrote most of the biographies in the Cast of Characters, Claire Cho (Undergraduate Intern, Syracuse University in Florence) assisted in proofreading, Dominic Ferrante (Undergraduate Intern, Harvard College) assisted in transcriptions, Nathaniel Hay (Undergraduate Intern, Harvard College) copyedited most of the texts, and  Sanam Nader-Esfahani (Graduate Intern, Harvard University) wrote the Lowell Lecture essay (cat. MS.III.6).

The exhibition staff would also like to thank Sarah Hutcheon (Reference Librarian, Schlesinger Library); Barbara Meloni (Public Services Archivist, Harvard University Archives); and Megan Sniffin-Marinoff (Archivist, Harvard University Archives) for their assistance in locating and digitizing materials related to Bernard and Mary preserved in Cambridge. Here at I Tatti, Erica Bernardi, Alexandra Provo, and Tiziana Resta provided helpful contributions. The curator extends a special word of gratitude to all members of the advisory board for their time, assistance, and expertise.

This exhibition has been created with Omeka, the open source web publishing platform developed by the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University.  Erin Bell provided invaluable technical assistance and theming.

The display cases were designed and produced (in record time) by Laboratorio museotecnico Goppion (Milan).

The double portrait of Bernard and Mary on the exhibition entry page is a composite image of two photographs, created by Colleen Farry.  Although Bernard and Mary never met at Harvard, they are brought together here for this exhibition.
