Courses of Study

In the year Mary attended the Harvard Annex, forty-one professors offered courses in the following: Hebrew, Sanskrit and Comparative Philology, Greek, Latin, English, German, French, Italian, Philosophy, Political Economy, History, The Fine Arts, Music, Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, and Natural History. The professors were all members of the Harvard Faculty, recruited by the committee responsible for the founding and running of the Society for the Collegiate Instruction of Women.
